Research Integrity Conference

13 septembre 2011 – Londres, Royaume-Uni

Publié le 13 septembre 2011 par Thérèse Hameau

Researchers and the institutions that employ them, are increasingly required to preserve the research data they create for re-use over the long term. Failure to do so can lead to breaches in public confidence in research, as recent high profile cases have shown. However, good research data management is not straightforward: it impacts on how researchers work and the research support infrastructures institutions need to put in place.

This event for senior institutional managers and research leaders will address many of the questions and concerns that are arising over the preservation of research data. For example: what are the legal and policy obligations to share research data? Who has responsibility for what aspects of research data management? What happens when research data is collected and stored across national boundaries? Delegates will hear how different institutions are tackling these and other questions by putting in place strategies and policies for research data management. Advice and guidance, developed by JISC and others, will be presented to help researchers and their institutions understand and meet their responsibilities towards research data.
