Open Science Summit 2011
22 et 23 octobre 2011 – Mountain View, Californie
Join us to kick off Open Access week 2011 as we examine the critical isses affecting our global scientific innovation system. This event is for everyone who cares deeply about making science work better for all humanity.
Many organizations, groups, and individuals are striving to improve and update our scientific institutions and practices for the 21st century.
However, these different efforts are often working on a piece of the problem without a view of the whole. It is not sufficient or realistic to tweak one component of the innovation system (eg, patent policy) and assume the others stay static. Instead, dynamic, interactive, nonlinear change is unfolding. Together, we can unerstand this change, and harness the power of collaboration to solve humanity’s most difficult problems.
The Open Science Summit is the only event to consider what happens throughout the entire innovation chain as reform in one area influences the prospects in others. In the best case scenario, a virtuous circle of mutually reinforcing shifts toward transparency and collaboration could unleash hitherto untapped reserves of human ingenuity.
