DASISH Workshop on Trust and Certification
16 et 17 octobre 2014 – La Haye, Pays-Bas
DASISH (http://dasish.eu) presents a workshop on the topic of trusted repositories, focusing in particular on existing standards for audit and certification and the conditions for their implementation as well as their current use in the Social Science and Humanities (SSH).
DASISH is striving to increase the overall quality of services for data management, curation and dissemination offered in the five SSH Research Infrastructures that have been on the ESFRI Roadmap.[1] In this context, DASISH is creating a framework comprised of standards, procedures and policies for digital preservation and dissemination of research data in the social sciences and the humanities. The ultimate goal of this effort is to support existing and new services in becoming a trusted archive or repository.
The objectives of the workshop are:
– To increase familiarity with available options for audit and certification of digital repositories among SSH data service providers.
– To promote the dialogue between SSH data service providers and the certification providers by creating a forum to discuss open questions, requirements for and possible obstacles to certification from the perspective of the SSH communities, as well as ways of overcoming such obstacles.
– To promote the exchange of information and best practices concerning audit and certification between the SSH data service providers within and across ESFRI projects.
