Consultation on proposals for long-term capital investment in science and research

Overview

Our ambition is to make the UK the best place in the world to do science and research. This is why the government is making a long-term commitment to invest in science and research infrastructure: increasing capital investment in real terms to £1.1 billion in 2015-16 and growing it in line with inflation each year to 2020-21. We want your views on what this money should be invested in, from refurbing a university laboratory, to investing in a new major international project.

Why We Are Consulting

This consultation seeks views on how the UK makes the most of this opportunity. The government will publish a Science Capital Roadmap, setting out our long-term strategic vision for a world-leading science and research infrastructure in the autumn. We are seeking evidence in order to inform the development of this roadmap.
