Interoperability standards enable the operational processes underlying exchange and sharing of information between different systems to ensure all digital research outputs are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable, according to the FAIR principles1. The report also highlights a number of technical, social a financial pain points, which must be addressed if we are to realize a vision of integrable content standards that seamlessly become part of the research and data management enterprise of the future.
